I really wished the Dr. Was not so over scheduled. He seemed distant,robotic and rushed to move on. Not at all what I'm used to at NHRMC. I don't entirely blame the Dr. the burocracy has a hand in this as well.

My husband had an appointment at 10:15 and i had one the same day at 2:30. Instead of us having to make 2 trips to the office, Dr Messier worked to fit me in just after my husband's visit. I really appreciated it.

I have been a patient of Dr Messier, a long time. Have no intention of going elsewhere..he appears to care, never rushed...

I've been a patient f/a # of years. I have always found the staff to be helpful and caring. I have an issue (not life threatening!) so I occasionally schedule between my annual exams. Again, the staff is outstanding in fitting me in ASAP. I would strongly recommend Novant (old NHRMC) to anyone who asks where they can get the best medical coverage. Novant (+ staff) do an outstanding job & I always feel comfortable when I have an appointment (or need to make one). It is hard to beat perfect but all staff I've had interaction with are excellent; couldn't ask for better.

Dr. Messier and Gwen are both professional and personable. Dr. Messier practices evidence based care in accordance with my medical history. He examines and inquires for new, significant or different symptoms and explains reasons for additional tests or medications. He listens and responds to my concerns and questions. Gwen swiftly facilitâtes electronic questions and provides immediate feedback. They make a great team.

Very thorough annual physical by Dr. Messier. He listened to me, answered my questions and concerns and asked pertinent questions regarding my health. We discussed a medication change to a different statin which I agreed to. I was very pleased with the actual physical exam and the outcome.

Receptionist was very nice with a welcoming smile.

The ph system doesn't appear to b the most efficient for the patient. Do appreciate the accessibility for someone in a wheelchair

Had a 2:15 appt - got called back at 2:45, so it must have been a busy day. However, the nurse and the Dr. Sent time with me, answered my questions and discussed all concerns I had.

Very fortunate to be with Matt and Gwen for these many years. Dr. Messier identified my hemochromatosis on first visit, my previous provider kept doing tests for months with no clue to my problem.

Doctor Messier and his assistant were truly a blessing for me. He was covering for my doctor and I had never seen him before. I felt welcomed by his assistant who was very professional and personable. I had a significant health problem diagnosed in the ER the night before. When I saw the doctor he instantly put me at ease as he was familiar with what happened. He was prepared to see me and I felt so comforted and so confident in his abilities to help me. Not only that he went further by already sending a referral for and further blood work that pinpointed another serious condition. I felt validated as a person with the care I was given. From the first moment of stepping into the office I was treated with dignity and respect. I would absolutely refer others to this practice.

I wish she was closer they're so far away from me

My experience with Dr. Messier was as a visit to a physician's office should be. Unfortunately, at this time in medical practice, this positive experience seems to be an unusual event. As a retired pediatrician, I have noticed a significant problem with patient-doctor communication during the past few years. Calls to the doctor are intercepted by nebulous "call screeners," messages are taken, and no response is forthcoming. When I practiced as a single practitioner, calls came to MY office and were handled by my staff. If necessary, I was called to the phone. Otherwise, the patient's issues were handled immediately by my staff. When appropriate, I would call the patient back in a very short time, between appointments. Population growth, short staffing (with undereducated, non-caring, irresponsible personnel), and the gobbling up of small medical practices into the GIANT conglomerate have led to a condition in which I would be ashamed to participate as a physician who truly cared for my patients.

As always, everyone I interacted with was professional and courteous. I would not hesitate to refer anyone to this office and Dr. Messier.

At age 76 I've seen a lot of Doctors and medical facilities. Dr Messier and the staff at the Porters Neck facility are by far the best. I trust them with my health and wellness.
