I spent years working as a registered nurse in the operating room, circulating, scrubbing in and assisting on surgeries across nearly every specialty. That time in the operating room gave me a close-up view of how surgery changes lives, and it pushed me to take on a bigger role in my patients' care. Becoming a nurse practitioner lets me stay connected to orthopedics while building longer-term relationships with the patients I treat.
