My path to healthcare began the summer I was eight years old, when my grandmother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I spent that summer in and out of the hospital with her, and the nurses there made a lasting impression on me. They let me help wherever they were able, and that sense of purpose stayed with me. When my grandmother came home, I continued helping by assisting with drains from surgery, managing her medicines and preparing meals. That experience planted a seed that never stopped grow...
