My path to orthopedic surgery started with a family friend who worked as an emergency room physician. That was my first real look at medicine, and that exposure sparked something. As I learned more, orthopedic surgery felt like a natural fit. I have always been drawn to taking things apart and putting them back together, which is, in many ways, what an orthopedic surgeon does. Growing up with a passion for sports only deepened that pull toward orthopedics and sports medicine.

Dr. Brumfield is a nice person, but his bedside manner is lacking. He was very dismissive. I felt like I was inconveniencing him. He didn't make me feel good about my visit and I think I will get a 2nd opinion from another provider that actually cares.

I felt like he didn't hear me at all. I was in for an acute injury and he seemed to have made up his mind that all my problems were because I was old and had arthritis. My chart even says I was in for chronic pain which isn't the reason for my visit.
