When I was 9 years old, my parents went on a medical mission trip to Central America. This sparked my interest in healthcare, and I knew then I wanted a career in medicine. After college, I worked for a medical nonprofit in Honduras, which further opened my eyes to the importance of access to high quality healthcare.
