As a chemistry major in college, I was drawn to the biochemistry of endocrinology from early on. During residency, my training in combined internal medicine and pediatrics also played a big role in my decision. I discovered that endocrinology is one of the few specialties where the care approach is not completely different between adults and children, which greatly appealed to me.

Dr. McHugh came highly recommended from my Cardiologist and a long=time friend, It took several months to get an appointment with him, but it was well worth the wait. I have seen many Endocrinologists over the past 20 years and I have to say after just one consultation with him, he's the best I've encountered. He was very patient, empathetic and proactive regarding my care.
