My path to medicine was not a straight line. Science has always captivated me, but my initial career goal was to be a musician. It wasn't until my 20s that I began seriously considering medicine, and the decision became clear during my wife's first pregnancy and delivery. Watching her care unfold, observing her physicians at work, I knew immediately that's what I wanted to do. Obstetrics and gynecology chose me as much as I chose it.
