My father was a physician, and my mother was his office manager, so at a young age I knew it was a field that I wanted to pursue. I always enjoyed the sciences, so that also drew me in and fed my decision to go into medicine.
In medical school, I chose urology because I thought it was unique. Urology gave me the opportunity to spend time with patients, speaking to them and working on their problems while still affording the opportunity to provide surgical services.
