I'm a board-certified, fellowship-trained colorectal surgeon with a specialty of diagnosing, treating and managing benign conditions and malignant diseases of the colon and rectum. I'm the only female colorectal surgeon in Western North Carolina.

For some patients, colorectal issues may be personal or embarrassing. It is my goal to put patients at ease and guide them through treatment with as little discomfort as possible.

I now am more at ease about what the plan for treatment will be. Dr Z was extremely knowledgeable and answered ALL of our questions. She had excellent bedside manner and I left feeling like I had made a new friend. A friend who happened to be an excellent doctor who is confident & an expert in her field.
