Before entering medicine, I studied vocal performance, which taught me discipline and how to connect with an audience, skills that carry over into how I interact with patients every day. This was first visit with Dan and Dr. Swanton is a tough act to follow. We had a number of years to develop a good relationship and I sensed that she "knew" me meaning my mental drive to continue to challenge myself to stay physically fit and mentally tough despite advancing age. It's a balance that takes time to develop. Dan was very attentive and I believe we can develop a very positive relationship in the same way.
