My father, grandfather and great-grandfather were all family medicine physicians and as I grew up, I assumed I would follow the same path. During medical school, though, I found a passion for surgery. What draws me to surgery is the opportunity to identify the problem, discuss the solutions with my patient and then fix the problem. Being able to watch my patients recover is deeply rewarding.
