Medicine runs in my family. My father and both of my grandfathers were physicians and growing up around that shaped my path toward a career in medicine. During medical school I discovered that vascular surgery offered the opportunity to perform both classic open surgery and less invasive endovascular surgery and would allow me to care for patients in elective situations as well as emergency ones.
