About
My path to cardiothoracic surgery is deeply personal. When I was 2 years old, I had open heart surgery. I had open heart surgery when I was 2 years old, and while I was too young to remember it, hearing my parents describe that experience left a lasting impression. It showed me early on how profoundly surgery can change a life and inspired me to become a doctor. I was drawn to cardiothoracic surgery because of its complexity and the opportunity to treat diseases of the heart, lung and esophagus....
