I went into general surgery so I could treat a wide range of conditions and found I enjoyed not just the variety - but the vast improvement many patients experience after surgery. We often treat lifestyle-limiting diseases, and seeing patients improve after surgery - and accomplish things they couldn't before - is very fulfilling.
