My path to obstetrics and gynecology is deeply personal. My grandmother taught Lamaze classes in her home and garden in Antigua, West Indies, and she was the person generations of women turned to for health and fitness guidance, especially to manage labor and pregnancy concerns. She is still remembered by many mothers and now grandmothers for how she cared for them during pregnancy and beyond. Her dedication planted a seed in me. Dr. Speeks was amazing. She immediately made me feel at ease especially being this was my first appointment with her.
