About

My path to pediatric hematology and oncology grew from several deeply personal experiences. My parents were foster parents, and I grew up in a home that welcomed more than 100 children over 20-plus years. That upbringing, combined with my faith and my interest in cancer biology, pointed me toward caring for children with cancer and blood disorders. Medicine also brought together two things I had loved from a young age: science and helping others.
