My nursing career began at the Veterans' Affairs hospital. I loved working with the adult and older adult population there, and wanted to focus on preventive and primary care to help avoid hospitalizations. That eventually led me to pursuing adult gerontology primary care as my specialty. I am still very motivated to help my patients maintain good health and prevent adverse events that could affect overall quality of life.
