I chose medicine because I enjoy solving complex problems while building lasting relationships with my patients. Rheumatology was a natural fit because many conditions require piecing together a patient's history, physical exam, laboratory findings and imaging to arrive at the correct diagnosis. That process is both intellectually rewarding and deeply meaningful, especially when it leads to a real improvement in a patient's quality of life.
