Dr. Wormer and Alex Caronis, PA are miracle workers, and I appreciate them more than they'll ever know! The disfigurement of mastectomy affected me a lot more than I could have anticipated, but after this last reconstruction revision, I cried a little. All I could think was "omg, I look like me," and it's been a while since I could recognize myself. From "flaps" to "Barbie humps" to hand-crafted breasts that look better than the originals, Alex and Dr. Wormer walked me through a very difficult time in my life. Almost 2 years ago we started this journey together, and through it all, I've felt safe, seen, heard, respected, prioritized, and so thoroughly cared for. At this visit I was feeling very ill and scared at what was going on post breast reconstruction surgery. I felt that Alex was a good listener. She was attentive to my needs, reassuring and professional. I left my visit feeling confident about her assessment of my condition and the treatment plan. In about 24 hours after taking the antibiotic she prescribed, my fever has ceased, and the redness on my skin over the breast implants is subsiding. I’m grateful she took the time to assess the situation and make a great decision for my health.
