Again for the first time in a very long time, my doctor provided active listening, gave me new information that helped calm my fears regarding my hypertension and suggested a plan of action. At 81 years old, I've seen dramatic changes in the doctor/patient relations from home visits to a 15 minute time slot that minimizes a patient to a computer screen. Insurance companies have a lot to answer for in my opinion and there needs to be a paradigm shift in the approach. Regarding Dr. St. Clair, I feel most fortunate to have picked him when going through the list of Novant cardiologists accepting new patients. He gave me the attention I had previously experienced from the doctors of my youth with the brilliance of today's modern technology. He has earned my respect and gratitude.
