Even in my early teens, I knew I wanted to be a physician. I was fascinated by anatomy, loved science and was precise at dissection. Surgery was definitely my calling.

Being the child of first-generation immigrants meant several messages were ingrained in my siblings and me. Our parents expected us to work hard, finish what we started, push to succeed and never complain.

Nurse & Dr.T explained everything to me that I would need to know & what not to wear like lotion, perfume comfy clothes, explain the few days after of my care - what to do & what not to do! They both were caring

Unfortunately my expectations were not met. I went to my appointment expecting an open dialogue with the provider. Instead, l was meet with contempt. Rather than listening the provider repeatedly had a simplistic, dismissive response. He totally, disregarded my perspective and showed lack of empathy.
