UNC School of Medicine is expanding the Wilmington branch campus to 30 students, increasing the pipeline of new physicians in eastern North Carolina.
We are bringing new pediatric specialists to the area so we can treat more complex cases and we will harness UNC Children’s telehealth capabilities to expand the services our outreach clinics offer underserved areas.
The partnership is expand access to clinical trials and research, including expertise on regional health conditions, outcomes and trends. Academic initiatives will include research into health equity, opioid addiction, and social determinants of health.
