TytoHome is a lightweight and portable medical exam kit. The TytoCare app gives you an interface between the exam kit and your smartphone or tablet. With these tools, you can collect and send information to a Novant Health professional from your smartphone. Your healthcare provider guides you during the exam.
With tools in the exam kit, you can capture high-quality digital sounds from your heart and lungs. You also can share readings of your heart rate and body temperature, or create images and videos that show your inner ears, throat and skin. Your healthcare provider uses this information and other details you provide to make a diagnosis and offer a treatment plan and prescription, if needed.
With TytoHome, you can get a diagnosis and treatment for many common conditions, including stomach aches, allergies, sinus pain, bug bites, ear infections, pink eye, fevers, rashes, colds and congestion.
You also can use the TytoHome kit to get a comprehensive physical exam.
Best of all, you can get virtual care while you’re at home, at work or on the go.

The TytoCare app launches a video visit with a Novant Health provider.

You and your healthcare provider decide who can access your medical records. TytoHome meets privacy standards of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, also known as HIPAA.
A TytoHome medical exam kit can provides your physician with high-quality digital sounds of the heart and lungs and high-quality digital images and video of the ears, throat and skin. The TytoHome kit also measures heart rate and body temperature. Using this examination data, your doctor can provide you with a diagnosis, treatment plan and prescription, if needed.

Also, ask about using your health savings account (HSA), health reimbursement account (HRA) or flexible spending account (FSA) to save on taxes and pay for qualified medical, prescription, dental and vision expenses. Please note at this time our payment processor cannot accept HSA, HRS, and FSA debit cards. You will need to manually submit your receipt for reimbursement.

Tyto has built-in training videos and guidance technology to help ensure accuracy and ease-of-use. To start, you will need a TytoHome device, which can be purchased at NovantHealth.org/TytoHome. Next you’ll need a smartphone or tablet device, a Novant Health MyChart account and a 2.4 Ghz Wi-Fi or hotspot connection.
The TytoCare app works with iOS (latest two versions) and Android (4.4.4 and above). Here are the specific requirements needed:

The device complies with FDA requirements, and the stethoscope is FDA-cleared.
You can use your FSA (Flexible Spending Account) to pay for the TytoHome device. Medical exams and video visits with a Novant Health provider often are covered by medical plans. Please check with your provider or insurance company to determine whether your plan covers video visits.
Insurance coverage for virtual care visits varies based on your plan and benefit structure. During the current state of emergency, coverage is being extended and upfront payments are waived until further notice.
TytoHome lets you send exam data over an encrypted, secure network. Your information will be stored in your MyChart account. This data is then stored on a cloud platform that meets privacy standards of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, also known as HIPAA. You and your healthcare provider determine who can access your medical records.
A licensed Novant Health medical professional will offer you the care you need. You will not be able to choose your primary care provider.
