The internal medicine residency program at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC is a small program. We get to know each resident personally — what drives and inspires you — and support your growth into an outstanding physician. You’ll gain hands-on patient care experience while exploring research and academic opportunities, whether your path leads to hospital medicine, primary care or a subspecialty.

As a small program, we offer a uniquely personalized training experience where faculty know you well and are deeply invested in your growth and success. Residents, faculty and staff support one another throughout residency and beyond, creating a close-knit community grounded in our values of camaraderie, excellence, compassion, integrity and honesty. 

I chose Novant Health for its welcoming and familiar atmosphere, which I felt during my second look visit. Additionally, the opportunity to work in a large hospital with a diverse patient population is ideal for my professional growth and desire to serve a varied community.
