Scheduling your visit

Screening mammograms do not require a provider’s order unless you have a personal history of breast cancer. Schedule screening mammograms by calling our scheduling department during office hours.

All diagnostic breast imaging services require a physician’s order. We can schedule your visit once we receive an order from your provider. Once we receive the order, a scheduler will contact you, or you can call our scheduling team directly to schedule.

After your procedure, an Imaging Navigator will contact you with results and will guide you through the next steps, if needed.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment time. Bring:

  • Your photo ID
  • Your insurance card
  • Your method of copayment or payment in full
  • Any requisition/imaging order form you have received from your provider
  • Any breast imaging you have previously completed outside our clinic

Imaging Appointments

To get an appointment for most diagnostic imaging procedures, you typically must have a referral and physician's order. Start with talking with your primary care provider about your concern. They can help get you on the path to getting an imaging referral if needed. Novant Health imaging centers accept all physician imaging orders.

If you have had a previous imaging procedure and need new images, you do not need go back to the same imaging center you went to before. Our radiologists can request the images from your previous exam(s) to compare to your new results.

It is important that you keep your scheduled imaging appointment. If you will be late due to an emergency, please call our scheduling team as soon as possible to cancel or reschedule.
