Novant Health Urology – Rural Hall makes it easy for you to access highly specialized urologic care close to where you live or work. Our providers are devoted solely to concerns related to the urinary system. We have the training and tools necessary to investigate and address urologic issues, including:

Our providers offer procedures and services such as:
- Vasectomy (a surgical sterilization procedure for men)
- Circumcision (removal of the penis foreskin)
- CT scans (noninvasive computer scans of organs and structures in the body)
- X-rays
- Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test (used to detect prostate cancer)
- Urinalysis (analysis of the composition of urine)
- Urinary cytology (a test to identify abnormal cells in urine; often used to detect bladder cancer)
- Cystoscopy (a procedure in which a cystoscope (hollow tube with a lens) is used to look at the urethra and bladder)
- Transrectal ultrasound (TRUS; a scan that uses soundwaves to create an image of the prostate)
- Prostate biopsy (a procedure to examine and remove suspicious cells from the prostate)
- Excision of lesions (removal of abnormal cells from rectal organs)
- Dilation of urethral stricture (a procedure to stretch scar tissue within the urethra)
