We will work to understand what’s causing your pain, and will then work with you to determine the best way to address it.
Conditions we regularly treat include:
- Arthritis, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and reactive arthritis (painful swelling of joints that can lead to bone erosion and joint deformities)
- Gout (a condition where uric acid collects in joints causing pain and swelling)
- Ankylosing spondylitis (a chronic inflammatory disease of the bones)
- Lupus (a condition in which the body’s immune system attacks healthy tissue)
- Lyme disease (a disease carried by ticks that can cause joint pain, neck stiffness, headaches and heart palpitations, and can lead to arthritis)
- Polymyositis (an inflammation of the muscles)
- Vasculitis (a disorder in which blood vessels become inflamed)
Treatment options can include:
- Anti-TNF medications (drugs used to help stop inflammation)
- NSAIDS (prescription strength versions of over-the-counter anti-inflammatories that can reduce joint inflammation)
- Biologics (drugs that alter the function of the immune system)
- Corticosteroids (anti-inflammatory drugs often used to treat arthritis)
- Bracing (immobilizing an inflamed joint to reduce pain)
- Surgery (including knee, hip and shoulder replacement procedures)
