Novant Health Gastroenterology – Hardeeville offers care for common and complex disorders of the digestive system. Our gastroenterology providers have advanced tools to investigate your concerns. After understanding how your concern is impacting your life, and reviewing any test results or imaging, you and your provider together will develop a treatment or management plan that is right for you.

We manage and treat digestive concerns including:

• Abdominal pain or discomfort
• Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
• Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD; Crohn’s and colitis)
• Ulcers
• Gallbladder concerns
• Heartburn (acid reflux; gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD)
• Bloating or indigestion
• Blood in stool (due to colon polyps, hemorrhoids or colorecatal cancer)
• Changes in bowel habits
• Unexplained weight loss or appetite changes (due to celiac disease, chronic pancreatitis or gastrointestinal cancers)

Gastrointestinal procedures our patients have access to include:

• Capsule endoscopy (to view the gastrointestinal tract)
• Colonoscopy (for screening or diagnostic purposes)
• EGD (upper endoscopy; to examine the lining of the esophagus, stomach and first part of the small intestine)
• Abdominal ultrasound
• Abdominal ultrasound (in which non-invasive ultrasound technology is used to examine the esophagus, stomach and small intestine)
• Liver biopsy
