When is pediatric specialty care needed?

Your pediatric primary care provider can treat many of your child’s illnesses and conditions, but sometimes a situation requires specialized care. When your child experiences a health complication beyond general pediatrics, you don’t have to travel far for help. Novant Health offers a broad network of pediatric specialists to provide the expert treatment your child needs.

Our comprehensive pediatric specialties

Your child's health condition is unique. Through Novant Health's diverse network, you have access to a wide variety of pediatric specialists trained to provide even the most advanced treatments. These specialists, ranging from pediatric surgeons and oncologists to child behavioral experts, are dedicated to creating a personalized treatment plan just for your child. And, your child will be treated in facilities using the latest in technology and equipment, from our pediatric epilepsy monitoring unit to our pediatric intensive care units.

What our pediatric specialists do

In addition to providing exceptional treatment, our pediatric care specialists offer diagnostic services within a child-friendly environment. In more complicated cases, your child may see several providers across different specialties. This team approach allows us to focus on getting the most accurate diagnosis before beginning your child’s treatment plan.

We're Dedicated to Making Your Child Feel Better.

Pediatric emergency care

When your child has an injury or sudden illness that can't wait for care, you want immediate care close to home. Novant Health offers pediatric emergency services at several of our hospital locations. Choosing which site is best depends on your needs, your child's specific health issue and where you live.

While all Novant Health emergency locations can care for children, Hemby Children’s Hospital and Betty H.
