Convenient and comfortable infusion services to meet your needs

Infusion therapy is used when medications are delivered intravenously (IV) or injected directly into the body through a vein. If you need infusion therapy as part of your treatment plan, our team of skilled nurses, pharmacists and physicians will be ready to assist you in one of our comfortable infusion areas. At Novant Health we offer a full range of outpatient infusion and injection services for patients that need treatment on a regular or infrequent basis, without requiring hospitalization.

Services include:

  • Chemotherapy
  • Therapeutic phlebotomy
  • Pain management
  • Blood transfusion
  • IV fluids for hyrdration
  • Vaccinations
  • Port/ catheter management
  • Infusions and injections for a variety of conditions, such as:
    • Infections
    • Chronic conditions such as Crohn's disease, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis and asthma
    • Transplants

Tips for your visit:

  • Make sure you bring your insurance information and picture ID
  • Bring a list (or the actual prescription bottles) of all medications you are taking including the dose, how often you take it, and prescribing doctor
  • Please respect other patients by turning off cell phones or placing them in “silent” mode
  • Avoid wearing scents and perfumes as other patients may be very sensitive to smells
  • Beverages and light snacks are available, but please feel free to bring any snacks or meals with you

Visitor restrictions for Novant Health Cancer Institute


In order to best serve you, and your health and safety during this time, we have made the following changes:

On day of your appointment, we are screening every patient, approved visitor and team member at the entrance for signs or symptoms of COVID-19.

Some appointments will be rescheduled or changed to a remote visit either by phone or video. A member of our team will notify you if this is an option, as determined by your provider.

For in-person appointments, we have a NO-VISITOR POLICY with the following exceptions:

    • First-time treatment in an infusion center
    • New patient appointment
    • Any patient whose safety is at risk if left alone (fall risk, inability to communicate clearly)

    If you meet the above criteria:

    • Only one support person allowed
    • Must be over the age of 18
    • Have no known exposure to the coronavirus

    For all other exceptions, please contact your care team at your clinic location prior to your appointment.
