Our medical teams are committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care. Convenience is also a reason to choose Novant Health. When your healthcare provider recommends a diagnostic imaging test such as MRI, CT scan, X-ray, ultrasound or mammogram, you can choose a location for your test.

Is a signed MRI or CT order valid at any radiology facility?

We accept all physician orders. Diagnostic imaging procedures must be recommended by your physician and require a signed physician order.

If I have had a previous exam, am I required to go back to the same facility?

No, we can request the images from your previous exam(s), so that our radiologists can compare and look for changes.

How much will my MRI or CT exam cost?

The cost of imaging exams can vary depending on your insurance coverage and the imaging facility.

If you need help estimating your out-of-pocket costs for a procedure at any of our Novant Health facilities, one of our financial navigators is ready to help – free of charge. The financial navigator will ask you about your procedure and insurance coverage. Then, you’ll receive an estimate of the cost along with payment options.to help – free of charge.

Will your office make sure my exam is authorized with my insurance company before the exam?

Exams will not be performed without prior authorization from your insurance company. We provide all patients with a good-faith estimate that includes details based on your insurance plan and the procedure to be performed. This estimate takes into account your insurance coverage, deductible, and copay or coinsurance.

How quickly can I see a provider, and where are your locations?

We have a variety of convenient locations, including acute radiology departments, freestanding imaging centers and breast imaging centers. Our North Carolina locations are across the Charlotte, the Winston-Salem area and Brunswick. We also have location in Northern Virginia. Ask about same-day and next-day appointments.

How quickly will I know the results from my exam?

The radiologist will send a report to your referring doctor in 24 to 72 hours after your exam.

Will my doctor be able to see the actual image(s) from my exam?

Physicians can request access to view the images online.

How do I know you can offer high-quality images?

We use state-of-the-art equipment that is accredited by the American College of Radiology. Our expert team includes on-site, board-certified, fellowship-trained radiologists and registered technologists.
