Every morning when I arrive at work, my goal for the day is simple: I use my knowledge and skills to help diagnose and treat patients with blood cancers, multiple myeloma and leukemias. My singular focus is on doing all I can to help them return to their families and communities. To do this successfully, I listen to my patients and use all resources available to me, including a multidisciplinary team of nurses, pharmacists, social workers, physical therapists and dietitians.

At Novant Health, I helped set up the transplantation and cellular therapy program, which allows us to use a patient's own cells to enhance their fight against cancer and their recovery from chemotherapy. I am an accreditation inspector for the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy and an active member of its quality committee.

My personal research focus is in using cell transplantation to treat blood cancers. I explore new therapies that have the potential to reduce adverse side effects and treat cancers now regarded as largely incurable.

To help address the challenges a diagnosis of blood cancer can create, I counsel patients on a voluntary basis through the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. It is important to me that patients have the support they need, whether they find it with me in my clinic or through my volunteer work.

I have lived in Charlotte with my family since 2013 and enjoy our community and all it has to offer. I also enjoy traveling to visit friends and family abroad and supporting my favorite soccer team.
