Dr Harvey was friendly and professional. She listened to me before doing a diagnosis and came up with a plan. It was a very good experience

The front desk staff was not very professional. I was not 100% sure I was in the correct suite because there are 2 suite numbers on the sign above the front desk. So when I asked if this was suite 204, the lady at the front desk rolled her yes, did a little sigh and said yes. She literally rolled her eyes and acted as if I asked the most ridiculous question. Also, while she was checking me in she kept stopping to talk to the lady sitting next to her about things not related to checking me in. I felt her focus should have been on me. She also kept stopping to look at what her team mate was typing on their computer as she checked in a different patient. And she kept stopping to listen to their conversation. That was VERY frustrating and rude. This was honestly the longest check in I have experienced at Novant. NOT a good first impression of this clinic at all. Based on the check in I was not really sure if the rest of my visit would be any better. I just really wish I had a different person to check me in. Then when I left, the clinical team member walked me to the front desk to check out. I was praying I would not get the same person who checked me in. But unfortunately I did. Summary of front desk team: Certain team members on the front desk need more training on how to be a bit more friendly. Definitely need to learn how to be more friendly. Focus on the patient in front of you. The clinical team was very nice. The person who roomed me was very upbeat. The provider was nice and explained things well.

As an athlete myself, I understand the impact pain and injury can have on performance and overall well-being. That is why I am so passionate about treating acute and chronic injuries for children, teens and adults.

I started my career as a family medicine physician in 2015, when I often found myself treating sports injuries. In 2018, I realized that sports medicine allowed me to blend my love of family medicine with a passion for helping my patients get back to athletics, exercise or even simple, everyday tasks. Today, I remain board-certified in family medicine and hold a certificate of added qualification in primary care sports medicine.

Patients hear advice every day from family, friends and the internet. My goal is to partner with my patients to understand their symptoms and goals for recovery. Then together, we gather the best information and develop a treatment plan that addresses the symptoms and takes into consideration any long-term impact.

Within sports medicine, new techniques and treatment options continually evolve to help improve acute and chronic problems. I'm excited by treatment innovations and always look to see how I can transfer these new options into my patients? care.

I am originally from Roanoke, Virginia, where most of my family still lives. I have six nieces and nephews, and I absolutely love being their aunt. In my spare time, I spend time with my significant other and our two dogs, Oliver and Murphy. We love hiking and walking as much as we can. I also enjoy playing volleyball and play in an adult soccer league on the weekends. I am a proud alumnus of the Virginia Tech women's soccer team, so you can often find me at Virginia Tech games cheering on my Hokies. I am a huge fan of the U.S. Women's National Soccer team, with personal goal to catch one of its games live in the coming years. When not on the game field, I also enjoy gardening and baking.
