Monies raised at Patrons’ Ball to fund new mammography technology 

Salisbury, N.C., Sept. 22, 2015 – Novant Health Foundation Rowan Medical Center thanks all the participants at this year’s annual Patrons’ Ball for their generous support. The event held at Catawba College’s Peeler Crystal Lounge Sept. 12 raised $220,000. The funds collected from the benefit will be used to add special 3-D mammography technology at Rowan Medical Center’s breast center. Read More
Novant Health cardiologists aim to keep heart failure patients out of the hospital

Tiny microchip inside the heart monitors vitals remotely before heart failure symptoms strike   

Charlotte, N.C., Oct. 2, 2015 — Cardiologists at Novant Health Heart and Vascular Institute began today implanting tiny, microchip sensors in patients with advanced heart failure to better monitor symptoms and reduce patients’ chances of returning to the hospital.  The implantable sensor, called CardioMEMS HF System, is the nation’s first and only Food and Drug Approved wireless heart failure monitor that has been shown to reduce hospital readmissions and improve quality of life for many heart failure patients. Dr. Morris earned a doctorate in Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in Lubbock, Texas, and completed a residency in neurology and a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.Read More
