Novant Health will participate in National Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 28. Over half of individuals who misuse pain relievers, and the majority of teenagers misusing prescription drugs, get the prescription from a friend or relative. Not only is it unlawful for controlled substance prescriptions to be transferred to any person other than the patient for whom it was prescribed, but doing so may cause others harm. Community members are encouraged to drop off unused or expired prescription medications at one of the participating Novant Health Pharmacy locations.
