Novant Health Names Amy Vance as Senior Vice President of Population Health

Charlotte, NC, August 6, 2014 – Novant Health has named Amy Vance as senior vice president of Population Health. She is currently the chief operating officer at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center.

Vance joined Novant Health in 2002 as the director of the SouthPark Surgery Center and then moved to be the director of nursing at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center in 2004. She has also served as the chief operating officer of Novant Health Matthews Medical Center. Vance received her bachelor of science in nursing from Pace University; a master’s degree in healthcare administration from New York University, and a master’s of science in business administration from Wingate University.

In her new role, Vance will partner with David Cook, MD, and work with the population health team to integrate population health across the Novant Health system, both culturally and operationally, so it creates value for patients, families and consumers. By creating alignment across the system, Novant Health will be even more equipped to deliver a remarkable patient experience. Vance will report to Jesse Cureton, executive vice president and chief consumer officer and Jeff Lindsay, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Novant Health.

“I’m thrilled Amy will be stepping into this new role as we develop this very important aspect of healthcare transformation,” said Cureton. “Her focus on employee engagement will allow her to thrive with population health.”

“Amy brings a wealth of clinical and operational knowledge to the population health team,” said Lindsay. “Her experience combined with her drive to create value in healthcare will be a great asset to the team.”

Novant Health is continuing on its journey to help patients manage their health and wellness goals. Population health management is a massive effort to change the model of care so it is more comprehensive and seamless for patients.

“Amy was very instrumental in the successful electronic health record rollout in the Charlotte market acute facilities,” said Harry Smith, president, Novant Health greater Charlotte market. “I have no doubt that her leadership and contributions demonstrated in the Charlotte market will be reflected in her new role.”

Vance will transition to her new role by the end of August.
