WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health has announced Kim Henderson, senior vice president and chief of staff to the CEO, will now also serve as the enterprise patient experience officer for Novant Health. Henderson will continue to lead corporate health initiatives while assuming additional responsibilities to enhance and continually improve the overall experience of patients throughout the entire Novant Health system.

She has a unique blend of expertise required to understand the impact of corporate strategy at the clinical, operational and patient level, as well as the organizational designs and processes required to deliver remarkable care at the highest level.”
As system chief of staff, Henderson leads high-level activities of the Novant Health board of trustees and executive team, assisting the CEO in the development and execution of internal and external strategy. Additionally, she leads strategic initiatives to build efficiencies and value across the Novant Health system and its communities. As the executive for corporate health, Henderson leads Novant Health’s strategic partnerships with businesses to bring innovative and customized health care and wellness initiatives directly to their employees, including behavioral health, occupational and executive health programs, as well as building comprehensive telemedicine services and on-site wellness centers.
Henderson began her career in Novant Health’s marketing and public relations department and has held a series of increasingly senior positions across various departments, including patient relations, guest services and volunteer services. She launched Novant Health’s first community relations department, and as senior director of corporate relations, Henderson managed the system's sports partnerships with both the Charlotte Hornets and the Charlotte Checkers, helping Novant Health become the official health care provider for the local NBA and AHL franchises.
ATHENA International most recently awarded Henderson with the 2021 ATHENA Service Leadership Award for her work to improve the quality of life for others in the Charlotte community. It is one of the numerous awards she has received throughout her career. The United Negro College Fund (UNCF) also honored Henderson at its 2021 Maya Angelou Women Who Lead Luncheon. She earned an MBA from Queens University of Charlotte and a Bachelor of Science in public relations from Western Michigan University.
