WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health Enterprises (NHE) has named Eric Eskioglu, MD, MBA, chief physician innovation officer. Dr. Eskioglu will remain Novant Health executive vice president as well as chief medical and scientific officer while assuming additional responsibilities related to NHE innovations.
In this expanded role, Dr. Eskioglu will help accelerate NHE innovations through partnerships with technology, biotechnology, artificial intelligence (AI) companies as well as with investors and entrepreneurs. He will assemble clinical and pharmaceutical teams and provide resources to create innovative health care platforms that will leverage data analytics and AI. These platforms will ultimately help Novant Health continue to deliver remarkable patient outcomes and lower health care costs.

Also a practicing vascular neurosurgeon, Dr. Eskioglu has a unique aerospace engineering background combined with his clinical neurosurgical experience. His expanded role with NHE complements his current responsibilities as executive vice president and chief medical and scientific officer where he provides strategic clinical and cultural leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective and patient-centered care across the Novant Health system.
