Novant Health invests over $425,000 in nonprofit organizations in the Winston-Salem area


WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Novant Health recently granted over $425,000 to local nonprofit organizations in the Winston-Salem area. In 2018, Novant Health announced a new alignment to their charitable giving, seeking to partner with nonprofit organizations that address identified health needs in the community and work to improve outcomes. These key areas of investment include:
• Health and human services agencies, for promoting wellness, healing and treatment in response to identified community health needs
• Environmental groups, for supporting safe and clean communities
• Education groups, for building the pipeline for the future healthcare workforce
“Winston-Salem is a community with a vibrant network of nonprofit organizations,” said Katherine Caster, manager of community engagement for Novant Health. “By partnering with local organizations, we’re strengthening the resources available to all community members, particularly our young and aging populations.”
As part of the most recent funding cycle, Novant Health is proud to announce support for the following organizations and their programs.

• Boy Scouts - Old Hickory Council
• Crosby Scholars
• Family Services
• Forsyth Tech Community College, Pathways to Possibilities*
• Forsyth Tech Community College, sonography equipment

• Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of Davidson
• Smart Start of Davidson County
• Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce
• The College of Davidson and Davie Counties

• GO FAR (Go Out For A Run)

Novant Health Social Responsibility has established a triannual request-for-proposal process from community organizations. The next funding submission cycle will open Aug. 1 and close Sept. 15 for nonprofit organizations seeking funds for programs in 2020.
