Our goal is to develop mutually beneficial and successful supplier partnerships
At Novant Health, our team members are committed to developing mutually beneficial and successful partnerships with suppliers from diverse backgrounds. Our goal is to include our diversity partners in everyday processes such as category reviews and product or service bids.
Since 2006, Novant Health has been engaged in supplier diversity development. We have networked with business owners, community leaders, chambers of commerce, elected officials and nonprofit organizations, while raising awareness of our commitment to building an inclusive supplier network. Over the last decade, we have spent more than $600 million with over 400 diverse suppliers.
Creating a broad supplier network is an important part of our commitment to diversity and inclusion. It is the intent of Novant Health to be an industry leader in providing diverse businesses the opportunity to participate in the procurement process. Novant Health considers diverse businesses and contractors to be those certified as being owned by women; people with disabilities; people who are LGBTQ; veterans; and ethnic minorities, including African-Americans, Asian-Pacific Americans, Native Americans, and Hispanics. Our programs include Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers. Tier 1 suppliers provide products directly to our organization. Tier 2 suppliers may provide goods and services through a Tier 1 company.
