Team member benefits

Cross Cultural Communications Program

Participants of this program connect with a nationally well-known communication specialist via private Zoom sessions, who help identify what rules or parts of a team member's native language may get in the way of clear communication and provides them with an opportunity to develop communication skills to help ensure the delivery of safe care, build trusted relationships, promote inclusion, and increase patient satisfaction, team member engagement and healthy patient outcomes.

Military leave policy

In support of team members who sacrifice so much to serve our nation in the U.S. military forces or state National Guard, Novant Health has enhanced military leave benefits. Military leaves of absence at Novant Health are administered under the provisions of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (USERRA). Full time and part time members when entering the uniformed services and returning within the time and conditions prescribed by law, will be reinstated to their former position, or a comparable one.

Team members who are members of a reserve military organization or the National Guard may participate in weekend or annual training as required. Novant Health will attempt to coordinate schedules, to the extent possible, to allow employees to meet their reserve obligations.

Parental leave policy

Novant Health is committed to supporting employees as they welcome a new child through birth or adoption, which is why we offer paid parental leave to eligible team members. It’s part of our commitment to being an organization whose business is the care of all people, starting with our team members. Novant Health provides four weeks of paid parental leave at 100% of base pay to eligible team members, which can also be combined with short-term disability leave.
