Marilynn Knapp, 72, thought she had a stomach virus, then she thought it was a dental issue, but ultimately she was diagnosed with shingles. That was  two years ago and she is still dealing with the nerve pain associated with the virus. The Clemmons, North Carolina resident said she had considered getting vaccinated for the shingles, but as a breast cancer survivor was advised against obtaining the vaccine because of her radiation treatment for the cancer. After her experience with shingles, she says she won’t hesitate to get the new shingles vaccine Shingrix when it’s released.
