Thirty-one year old Rosalee Capozzi has lost more than 125 pounds through determination and hard work. Her journey began ten years ago during a volunteer trip to Costa Rica. During her three month stay, she noticed that she was rapidly losing weight because of her change in diet. Back at home, she decided to make some changes in her diet permanent and added exercise to her regimen. Even though Capozzi did not have any chronic medical conditions, she realized her current habits would cause her problems in the future. Last year after hitting a plateau, she and her husband started seeing nutritionist Ginnie Barringer at the Novant Health Heart & Vascular Institute who taught her about portion control and hidden sugars in products. Capozzi is almost at her goal with only 15 pounds to go.
She lost 125 pounds. Here's how she got there.
