We want your stay at Novant Health UVA Health System Haymarket Medical Center to be as comfortable and easy as possible. When you arrive at our facility, the first thing you will need to do is visit our registration department. A team of staff members will help you complete the necessary paperwork and answer any questions you may have about your stay.

Please bring your health insurance card, a list of current medications and any medical records your doctor may need. Medications from home should not be brought to the hospital.

Be sure to leave any valuables at home. Even though our hospital professionals take every reasonable precaution with personal belongings, we cannot be responsible for lost or damaged items.

Patient representatives

To help ensure that all your needs are being met, we provide patient representatives. Your representative is available to answer any questions you may have and to help understand your needs and communicate them to your family and doctors. You can reach the patient relations department from inside the hospital by dialing 8002, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you need assistance outside of these hours, dial 0 for the operator and ask to speak with a patient advocate.

Patient meals

In partnership with Morrison Healthcare Food Services, Haymarket Medical Center is working to redefine hospital food. To accomplish this, we have created the Great Living Menu. This program helps patients discover that eating healthy can also be delicious. We use fresh, wholesome ingredients that treat your taste buds and your body. We even take it a step further by teaching patients how to eat healthy when they go home.

Our food services are available through our Catering to You system or our Dining on Call system. With Catering to You, we provide personal, restaurant-style service, with a nutrition expert discussing the menu choices and taking the patient's order. With Dining on Call, patients can order their meals when they are ready to eat, with delivery within 45 minutes by our friendly, professional staff.
