If you’re interested in performing valuable community service in a healthcare setting, please consider joining the Novant Health Auxiliary. If you are age 18 or older and are not currently enrolled in high school you qualify for our adult volunteering program. You can volunteer to serve at any of several locations, performing a variety of interesting tasks, including working in the emergency department or comfort rounds to inpatient rooms, helping with clerical duties, guest services, assisting in our gift or thrift shop and much more. In addition to regular assignments volunteers can also assist with fund raising events such as annual bazaars, jewelry sales and the Circle of Lights memorial service through our program Helping Hands.

All adult applicants should first thoroughly read the Volunteer Information Packet. If after reviewing the information you wish to proceed, please complete the Adult Volunteer Application and follow the instructions to return it to the volunteer office. Once we receive your completed application the office staff will reach out to you to schedule an interview.

College volunteers

Volunteer programs are organized for college students age 18 to age 25 who are enrolled in an undergraduate program and for teens age 16 to age 18 (the teen program is only available at Prince William Medical Center in Manassas).

Our college volunteer program gives students an opportunity to learn about healthcare by assisting staff, visitors, and patients with non-medical tasks. Volunteers must be able to follow directions, accept supervision, comply with the rules, exhibit interest and enthusiasm and work independently. If you are interested in serving in a healthcare setting and feel you can meet our expectations, we invite you to apply. College students should apply as adults.

For complete information and application materials, please call us at 703-369-8173 or learn more about volunteering at Prince WIlliam Medical Center.
