Forsyth Medical Center Services Women’s health Maternity Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

We can give your newborn a high level of care

If the newest member of your family enters our neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), our team will strive to offer your baby advanced care with compassion.

Along with the high-quality medical care and conveniences that our organization offers, all of our team members will work to make you feel included and supported throughout your baby’s stay.

Our NICU is Level 3B – one of the highest levels of newborn (neonatal) care available, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics. Our staff includes respiratory, speech and physical therapists as well as social workers and breastfeeding (lactation) consultants. We offer private and semi-private rooms so you and your family can have alone time with your baby while he or she is still in the hospital.

If you need a moment to rest and relax while visiting our NICU, you can spend time in the Ronald McDonald Room located on the same floor as the NICU. This room includes a kitchen, a washer and dryer, a TV and Wi-Fi access so you can get the comforts of home without being far from your baby.

When you cannot be at the NICU, you can call our care team 24 hours a day to receive updates on your infant. If you would like to be able to see your baby even when you are away, you can access a nonstop video feed showing your child’s crib through our Angel Eye service. This video feed is password-protected, so only those you share the password with will be able to see it.
