From your baby’s first day, your embrace matters most

We want to help you and your family create strong bonds with your newest arrival. Throughout your stay in the mother-baby units after delivery, your baby will be “rooming in” with you. This makes it easier to participate in your newborn’s care. Rooming in also allows families to feel more as if they are at home, but with access to around-the-clock care by experienced nurses, doctors and lactation consultants.

In addition to excellent medical care, you can get assistance from an on-site concierge who can coordinate the services you need during your stay. This includes one complimentary meal each day for a support person who is assisting mom.

Baby-friendly policies

Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center is a baby-friendly hospital, committed to your success at breastfeeding. You will receive guidance from international board-certified lactation consultants in accordance with the national Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative. You will have quiet times when you and your family can rest and have uninterrupted bonding time with your infant.

Your family’s safety and security is important to us, and we take steps to protect you. We make sure visitors to the mother-baby units check in and show a photo ID. Infants wear a security band that will sound an alarm if the child is close to an exit or other boundaries of the unit. Nurses wear badges so that families know who is in their room. Our ultimate goal is to provide remarkable care and instill the confidence families need to take their baby home.
