Improving quality of life during serious illness
Facing a serious illness is hard on both you and your family. Novant Health Supportive Care can help you minimize the symptoms, pain and stress associated with your diagnosis.
By working together with you and your primary doctors and nurses, our specialized team can provide an extra layer of support during treatment, no matter your stage of illness.
Anyone with a serious illness can benefit from supportive, or palliative, care, but those with certain diagnoses will find our service especially helpful.

If you are hospitalized due to your illness, you may receive a supportive care consultation before you are discharged to help answer questions about your diagnosis and assist with decision-making about your care.
We also work closely with outside services like home health care, nursing homes and – if appropriate – hospice to ensure your continuity of care.
Specialty outpatient clinics
Understanding that a cancer diagnosis can be especially challenging on the mind, body and spirit, we offer a specialty outpatient clinic to help manage the stressors associated with the disease. Services include: symptom management, emotional and spiritual support, guidance with treatment choices, and assistance with advance directives.
