Our services

Novant Health South Charlotte Endocrinology specializes in the diagnosis, management and treatment of disorders affecting the adult endocrine system. Our providers listen to your concerns and then use advanced diagnostic tools to identify any issues. Our team members have devoted their careers to understanding how hormone imbalances can affect your overall health. Once they understand how your endocrine system is functioning, they will put together a plan to either treat your concern or manage your hormone imbalances.

Conditions we regularly treat include:

  • Diabetes (a condition in which the pancreas makes too little insulin or no insulin at all, resulting in higher blood sugars)
  • Hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid)
  • Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid)
  • Thyroid nodules (solid or fluid-filled lumps on the thyroid)
  • Thyroid cancer
  • Parathyroid disorders
  • Osteoporosis (a condition that causes thinning of the bones)
  • Pituitary disorders
  • Pituitary tumors
  • Adrenal disorders (including hypergonadism, which can cause masculinization in females, and hypogonadism, which can lead to diminished sperm or egg production)

We are able to offer a number of diagnostic procedures in our clinic, including:

  • Blood tests (to identify possible hormone imbalances)
  • DEXA scans (bone densitometry; used to diagnose osteoporosis)
  • Ultrasounds (a noninvasive way to assess thyroid function)
  • Fine-needle aspiration biopsies (used to examine a lump or mass without a more invasive procedure)
  • Insulin administration or pump training (to control diabetes)
