Our clinic offers traditional and minimally invasive procedures for a range of pediatric neurological disorders, with a focus on pediatric brain tumors and epilepsy surgery. When possible, we use endoscopic, microscopic, and/or minimally invasive surgical approaches, so that children can recover as quickly as possible and get back to doing what they do best, being kids! Our neurosurgical team’s services include the treatment of:

  • Brain and spinal cord tumors
  • Arachnoid membrane cysts
  • Chiari malformation (skull structural defect affecting balance) and spinal cord syrinxes (fluid-filled cavity in the spine causing weakness and pain)
  • Craniosynostosis (premature fusion of skull sutures before birth)
  • Craniofacial reconstruction and deformational plageocephaly (flat spot on the back or side of the skull)
  • In utero neurosurgical conditions
  • Neural tube defects including myelomeningocele (spinal defect) and encephalocele (cranial defect)
  • Tethered cord
  • Pediatric stroke, Moya Moya disease and other vascular malformations
  • Medical intractable epilepsy (persistent, debilitating seizures), through treatments including vagal nerve stimulators, ECOG guided resections, stages surgeries with grids, and functional hemispherotomies (isolation of brain hemispheres)
  • Spasticity
  • Hydrocephalus, with treatments including endoscopic surgery whenever possible
